Joeboy Biography and Early Life

Joeboy was born on the 21st of May, 1997, in the Nigerian state of Lagos. The most of his life has been spent in Lagos, where he discovered his passion for music when he was sixteen years old.

With his older brother singing in the church choir and his father playing piano at the church where they worshipped, he grew up in a musical household.

He completed his elementary and secondary school in Lagos before enrolling at the University of Lagos, Akoka, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.

His major musical influences are 9ice and ID Cabasa, two of Nigeria’s most successful music artists with whom he spent a lot of time in the studio while learning his craft.

At age 17, Joeboy recorded his first single titled “Gbeseyin”, an afrobeat song. Who knows what Joeboy net worth would turn out to be?

In 2017, he released a cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” which received good reviews within Nigeria and outside the shores of Nigeria.
